Chioma Omeruah, popularly known by her stage name ‘Chigul,’ is currently struggling with a medical condition known as Slipped Disc.
The comedienne took to Instagram last night, June 16, 2016, to share the pain with her fans. According to her, the pain returned after some weeks of relieve.
She posted a photo of her sleeping area which shows the medical pillows and braces she uses to help the pain. Then she wrote . . .
“When slipped disc will not allow you sleep like a normal person. Back brace, 2 reg pillows. 4 medical pillows and 1 body pillow just to sleep…trying to push past the pain bet I tink I give up and use drugs… #ihatebeinginpain #backpainsucks #slippeddiscgoaway, #dontwantsurgery.”
Slipped Disc occurs in the lower back when the jelly-like material in-between discs that provide shock absorbency in the spine ruptures or dries out. This condition is also known as a herniated disk, ruptured disk, or prolapsed disk. The most frequently affected area is in the low back, but any disk can rupture, including those in the neck.
The disks are protective shock-absorbing pads between the bones of the spine. Although they do not actually “slip,” a disk may bulge, split, or rupture. This can cause the disk cartilage and nearby tissue to fail, allowing the inner gel portion of the disk to escape into the surrounding tissue.
The pain can be very excruciating and that is what the comedienne is going through. Chigul’s career started when a BlackBerry voice note recorded she did went viral. She started gaining recognition, anchoring events and eventually hosting hers. She is also into acting and Presenting.
Following her last night’s tweet, her fans have been sending consoling messages
